Oracle has filed a patent infringement lawsuit against Google and accused of infringing seven of its Java patents and related copyrights that aid in development of Android based Operating Systems.
Karen Tillman, spokeswoman for Oracle stated that in the process of developing Android, Google intentionally, repeatedly infringed Oracle’s Java-related intellectual patents.
This lawsuit is believed to be the necessary remedial action taken against the breach of the lawsuit.
The firm reportedly is asking for the settlement of damage in view to compensation. The lawsuit claims that Google's Java-like Dalvik technology integrated in Android is the one that infringes with the patent claims.
The lawsuit states:"Android (including without limitation the Dalvik VM and the Android software development kit) and devices that operate Android infringe one or more claims of each of United States Patents Nos. 6,125,447;
6,192,476; 5,966,702; 7,426,720; RE38,104; 6,910,205; and 6,061,520."
