Enterprise software seller Oracle has devised its roadmap for the development of the Solaris platform.
Oracle aims to integrate Solaris with the Unix based operating system.
The company has stated that the latest version of OS, Solaris 11 will be offered in 2011, offering a bit of updates and kernel customizations, allowing run in powerful Unix platform.
Executive vice president for Oracle's server and storage business, John Fowler stated the update of the Solaris platform that offers the new level of enterprise class technology that was done by Sun Microsystems whilst developing Solaris 10 platform.
Fowler through a statement said: "Complete, open and integrated has been Oracle's mantra for years. The Sun acquisition is about extending that."
Fowler further added that Solaris 11 will be offered via a vital update that is based on the existing file support that allows necessary kernel modifications that offers better scalability, virtualization and high-end server hardware system.
