The Apple executive who was responsible of the development of iPhone 4 has reportedly resigned from the position soon after the issue of "antennagate" issue came across.
The BBC reports that Mark Papermaster, has been the chief of Apple's iPhone and iPod engineering department since 2009 and his resignation from its position has been voluntary or not is yet not confirmed and reports claim that they are paying a price for iPhone 4's antenna fault.
Apple however has vouched for Papermaster's departure and removed his details from the website.
Bob Mansfield, senior vice president of Macintosh hardware engineering, might be taken in to run over as a successor, the WSJ reports.
Papermaster has previously worked for International Business Machine (IBM) for 25 years before joining Apple in 2008.
Apple through a released statement said, "Papermaster possessed strong general engineering skills, is an outstanding leader, and because we believe he will be a good cultural match at Apple."
