Verizon Wireless will be offering iPhone 4 via its stores from January 2011, in form of AT&T's exclusivity deal that might end with Apple.
Tech news site PC Mag states that AT&T has claimed a petition with the US Securities and Exchange Commission that goes with the iPhone exclusivity contract which will bring the deal to terminate.
AT&T claims that despite the closure of the deal it will post a strong sales figure. The filing stated: "As these exclusivity arrangements end, we expect to continue to offer such handsets (based on historical industry practice. And we believe our service plan offerings will help to retain our customers by providing incentives not to move to a new carrier."
Sources claim that Apple has placed an order for millions of Qualcomm CDMA chips for its iPhone 4, which supposedly be assembled in December and thus will be coming with Verizon in the following year.
Tech Crunch believes that the component will be based on the supply chain process that claims of releasing the Verizon iPhone released next year.
