The Indonesian Government has claimed that it won't be pulling back the services of Research in Motion's (RIM) BlackBerry smartphone.
The statement voiced out by the country's communications ministry states of Indonesia's refusal of comments which now has become official in respect with the Indonesian Telecommunications Regulatory Body, who in turn stated that RIM's services will be banned if the firm does not plan to install a server that allows the country's security agencies to monitor all data sent from the handsets.
It is believed that this report comes soon after the governments of Saudi Arabia and the U. A. E imposed a ban on RIM in their nation due to security issues.
Apart from Indonesia, India has also raised concern on this issue and talks continue on this matter with the Indian Government to find a mutually satisfying decision for both.
The Indonesian government official Heru Sutadi, stated: "There's no decision yet on the ban, but we raised similar concerns as other countries over the security of data traffic. We just wanted to protect the customers and our country from any misuse of the content of communication using BlackBerry devices."
