oeing predicts India will add 1,150 aircrafts to its fleet Reports claim that the Boeing Company has seen a huge increase in the number of flights it is manufacturing for India. Even as the economic crisis is slowly but surely abating, the Airlines Companies are going ahead with plans to expand services to its customers.

Mr. Dinesh Keskar, in- charge of the India branch of the Boeing Company said that the Company was to deliver at least 1,150 flights for commercial use to Indian Airline Companies over the next twenty years. The total cost of purchase is estimated at $ 130 billion. He also added that the aviation sector in India was certainly expected to grow in leaps and bounds and was certainly in the running to become one of the most successful aviation sectors in the World. The growth is predicted in the areas of domestic and international flying. Boeing therefore considers itself lucky to be apart of this exciting growth and partner with India as its official aircraft manufacturer.

The economic crisis really tested the resilience of the Airlines. The rising production and fuel costs coupled with lowering demand from patrons left the companies to suffer high losses. However, the Companies withstood this difficult phase and have emerged with the desire to expand their services. The low – Budget airlines such as Spicejet are also looking to expand and will shortly introduce international routes. Spicejet will add 30 Boeing aircrafts to its fleet for a price of $2.7 billion. IndiGo has already had its expansion plans approved by the government.

Boeing has also apologized for the delay in delivering the ordered aircrafts. The Indian Airlines had placed an order for the Boeing 787 Dreamliner. The Company is yet to deliver the finished aircrafts. The Company’s reports claim that the aircrafts are presently under assemblage and will be reached to the Indian Airlines by early 2011.
