On Thursday, a Malaysian official said that Kuala Lumpur will host the ninth Forbes Global CEO Conference (FGCC).
The basic aim of the three-day conference, commencing on Sept. 28, is to enhance the position of Malaysia as an ideal business location, explained Malaysian International Trade and Industry Minister, Mustapa Mohamed.
He said that it is the first time that Malaysia is hosting such a conference. He thinks that the nation has made a good chance for networking and growing business relationships with tremendously powerful and rich leaders.
As per the Mustapa, the participants would be addressed by Malaysian Prime Minister Najib Razak and Deputy Prime Minister Muhyiddin Yassin, giving introduction to Malaysia's newly-announced policies.
Mustapa added that it was very important for the attendees to take note of the opportunities arising from the liberalization measures taken by the country.
Najib announced a variety of measures to relax the investment rules and regulations, including reducing the role of Foreign Investment Committee tasked to approve or reject an investment application.
The conference is being hosted by the Malaysian government, and it will be attended by roughly 450 delegates including successful CEOs, industrialists, academicians and famous business figures.
For FGCC 2009, a total of 57 international and five Malaysian speakers have confirmed participation.
