Multimedia Services and Data Centre Infrastructure for Singapore to be provided by Singtel

Recently, Singapore Telecommunications Limited (SingTel) was announced as the Official Multimedia Services Partner for the Singapore 2010 Youth Olympic Games (Singapore 2010), by the Singapore Youth Olympic Games Organising Committee (SYOGOC). It is now one of the Tier 1 sponsors to come on board for Singapore 2010.

Fixed and mobile telecommunication services, as well as internet and leased lines services will be offered by SingTel, as part of the sponsorship, in order to fulfill the voice and data communications needs during Games' time, at all venues.

Furthermore, SingTel will provide software for the development of website and mobile application services, along with providing the important data centre infrastructure necessary to ensure appropriate storage of key applications and systems deployed for the Games.

On SingTel's involvement in the world's first-ever Youth Olympic Games (YOG), its Group CEO Ms Chua Sock Koong said, "This is yet another superb opportunity for Singapore and SingTel to showcase our brands and capabilities in the international sporting arena. For SingTel, our support is also well aligned with our efforts to reach out to the youth segment of our customer base," expressed CEO Ms Chua Sock Koong, on SingTel's involvement in the world's first-ever Youth Olympic Games (YOG).

Singapore 2010 is an occasion, which incorporates sport, culture and education. The basic aim of the YOG was to educate and engage young athletes, inspiring them to play an active role in their communities.
