Air India and Singapore Airlines have extended their partnership through a fresh deal, allowing customers of both airlines to enjoy great choice and value for their money. Passengers can earn and redeem miles on flights under current bilateral deal, effective from Tuesday. The Singapore Airlines, having six air destinations in India, is set to cover 93 destinations in 38 countries, with the inclusion of subsidiary carrier SilkAir.
Huang Cheng Eng, Singapore Airlines' executive vice president marketing and the regions, said: "Singapore Airlines is pleased to welcome Air India on board. The addition of Air India as a KrisFlyer partner boosts the number of carriers we have such agreements with to 28."
The deal comes in line with Air India's move to join the Global Star Alliance formed in 1997, of which SIA is a founder member among total of 26 members. Mr. Huang further said: "Those who fly frequently with Singapore Airlines and Air India now have more opportunity to increase their frequent flyer miles, and more choice in deciding how best to use their miles."
