Federal Bureau of Investigations (FBI) has given up on encoding the five hard drives which remain protected by the open-source encryption software TrueCrypt.
According to the reports posted by the Brazilian news site Globo, the HDD belongs to Daniel Dantas, who presently is in the custody of Brazilian police for money laundering accusations.
Brazilian have sought assistance from FBI, who tried to decode the encrypted password with the use of program 'dictionary', that uses different permutations and combinations to crack the code and were unable to do so.
Dantas has twice been arrested but was let go free as per Brazilian law, you cannot force either Dantas or TrueCrypt's makers to reveal the passwords.
And thus, Dantas was released of its accusations over the money laundering case in the so-called Operation Satyagraha.
