Cisco recruits Cloud computing specialist

Cisco Systems finally filled the position of chief technology officer (CTO) after taking the former Sun Microsystems employee Lew Tucker in the Cisco family.

According to market insiders this move is aimed at expanding the cloud computing service markets at the same time promoting its Unified Computing System (UCS) business line among cloud-based service providers.

As far as Lew Tucker is concerned he has a firsthand experience on scalable computing and web development, which he acquired from Sun Microsystems, prior to his service with Salesforce. com in 2002 where he was responsible for upbringing of the company's App Exchange market.

He then joined as a CTO for Radar Networks that concentrated on scalable designs and the semantic web service.

However the present job will seek him to report directly to Cisco CTO, Padmasree Warrior, and Tony Bates, senior vice president in charge of Cisco's enterprise efforts.
