First green infrastructure of Singapore trust has been launched on the local bourse, underlining the rising green infrastructure asset sector in the state.
The Singapore Exchange announced on Tuesday that K-Green Trust has started dealing on its Main board, under the ticker symbol K-Green.
Executive Vice President of SGX and Head of Listings, Lawrence Wong greeted K-Green Trust to SGX. They said that K-Green is the first green infrastructure trust, which has been listed on their exchange. It highlights their charisma as a listing place for the rapid developing sector of infrastructure assets in Asia.
K-Green is recognized as a business trust established and supported by Keppel Integrated Engineering Limited. Upon listing, K-Green Trust will possess three assets, which are Ulu Pandan NEWater Plant, Senoko Waste to-Energy Plant and Tuas Waste-to-Energy Plant.
K-Green Trust is not going to increase any funds in its listing. To meet the requirement of shareholding spread, about 51 % of the K-Green Trust will be allocated to Keppel Corporation Ltd.
CEO of Keppel Infrastructure Fund Management, Mr. Thomas Pang and Trustee-Manager of K-Green Trust, said, “We are happy to have worked with SGX on the successful listing of K-Green Trust. With growing awareness in environmental issues worldwide, there is greater demand for ‘green’ infrastructure assets”.
