China and Singapore pledge to strengthen mutual ties

China and Singapore are working to strengthen the mutual ties between both countries and have committed to push mutual talks to higher level.

Earlier, Chinese vice Premier Li Keqiang and visiting Singaporean Senior Minister Goh Chok Tong held discussions in the Great Hall of the People in Beijing Wednesday, discussing various issues of national and international interests.

Li said that his country already maintains smooth relations with Singapore given to their high degree of mutual interest in the fields of economic, trade and political domain.

Li said that his country will continue to maintain regional and trade co-operation with Singapore and extend every help to the city-state.

Both leaders also discussed the impact of global slowdown on their respective economies and way to avail opportunities at a time when market has started to show signs of recovery. The leaders also urged rest of the nations to join hands for the world's economy to report healthy growth.
