The theme of the upcoming China Sourcing Fair will be portability and convergent devices. The electronics fair will be held from June 8 to 10 at the Dubai International Convention & Exhibition Center.
It is expected that the focus will be on mobile computing. The products are getting sleeker and increasing in features and getting more powerful. The mobile internet devices are expected to sell like hot cakes.
The market for mobile computing is dominated by netbooks with 7 to 10in LED-backlit displays. The majority of the models have features like Blu-ray and HDMI. They have processors from various Companies like Via and ARM while the Intel's Atom processors are placed in higher end models.
Most of the Companies are positioning their products as an 'all in one' solution. The emphasis is on performing entertainment, computing, networking and communication tasks in a single device. Some models include features like solid state disks, touch pads and optical sensors.
As far as storage solutions are concerned, USB drives will be most popular segment. People will be looking to buy products based on the USB 3.0 standard. Other products will include external HDDs, SSDs and NAS, which will also receive a lot of interest.
People can also expect widescreen LCD TVs and monitors apart from other home networking devices. Apart from these input devices, makers will display wired and wireless keyboards and models of mouse.
