Reports claim that Government's Navratna, BHEL has witnessed a 42% jump in the net profit for the fourth quarter.
As per the figures, the state-run power equipment maker BHEL reported an audited net profit to the tune of Rs 1,909.58 for the fourth quarter that ended on March, 2010.
The figures for last year in the corresponding period stood at Rs. 1,347.47 crore.
However, the total income of the Company rose from Rs. 11,047.24 crore to Rs. 14,152.63 crore. Both the figures are for the period during the January-March quarter.
Further, Bharat Heavy Electricals Ltd also declared a final dividend of 123%, which amounts to Rs. 12.30, per share. The face value of the shares in the year 2009-10 was of Rs 10.
The country's premier engineering firm posted a net profit of Rs 4,310.64 crore for the full financial year ended March 31. The recorded figures jumped 37 %.
However, the company recorded Rs 3,138.21 crore as the net profit in the previous fiscal year.
As compared to Rs. 27, 646.61 crore in the 2008-09 financial year, this year the audited financial results of the company for FY'10 rose to Rs 34,396.67 crore.
