After the acquisition and re-branding of factual TV production company, Uproar Asia PTE Ltd, Factual media company Ten Alps unveiled Ten Alps Asia in Singapore and commenced its Asian operations.
Apart from this, Uproar's slates of programs - like Vietnamese, Malaysian and US TV coverage - have also been taken over by Ten Alps, in order to reproduce its UK multiplatform factual model in Asian markets.
Furthermore, the UK operations of Uproar Productions have also been acquired by Ten Alps, as part of the deal. These operations will form part of its factual TV subsidiary, Blakeway Productions.
A sum of up to £562,000 is being paid by Ten Alps for the business, which has a two-year earn-out.
It has appeared that the company is mulling to include a prominent commercial division to its operations in Singapore; and, as its first step, plans to include advertising sales for its UK print and online products with an Asian editorial footprint.
"This is a first step in a plan to leverage our content and communications skills into the fast-growing Asian markets, where we believe factual TV production, publishing and communications services in offline and online media are strong opportunities. We will build carefully in Asia against our existing asset base and aim to expand the operation using our proven commercial models," said Alex Connock, the chief executive of Ten Alps.
