Experts say that while sex may not cure chronic illnesses, it does have some health benefits. According to the Health Minister Jose Gomes Temporao’s campaign to prevent high blood pressure, he recommends regular vigorous exec rise preventative measure, including sex and dancing. A report by ABC News said that a recent study in the British Medical Journal of 6,000 American ages 25 to 84; found that those with an active sex life lead healthier and longer lives. While experts also said, sex may not cure chronic illnesses, its does have some health benefits and it’s not the same as an intense workout at the gym.
Associate Professor, Jamie Feldman, at University of Minnesota Department of Family and Medicine and Community Health, told ABC News, “You're not going to get the same [physical health] benefit as going out for a 2-mile jog; Sexual activity provides some degree of modest exercise. But it's not the same as getting moderate exercise for 30 minutes days also increases the body's "happy" hormones such as dopamine and cortisol it counteracts depression, improves energy and improves people's mood”. While consultant sexologist Eric Garrison points out the calorie reducing benefits says, “And studies show that sex is known to relieve headaches and sinus pressure since it increases blood flow in the head, "So the ‘not tonight, I have a headache,' excuse doesn't really work."
Health Minister Temporao purposely singled out sex as a highly recommended form of exercise. He said, ““It’s not a joke. It’s serious. Having regular physical exercises also means sex, always with protection of course, Fazendo sexo for all! Now, that’s a health prescription that’s easy to follow”.
