Scientists have developed a new and enhanced drug treatment regime to take care of malaria, that they pronounce is as successful as the average therapy, rather, is more convenient.
Almost 500 million people are infected with malaria every year and around 1 million people die while suffering from malaria. The case is mostly seen in the sub-Saharan Africa.
The disease gets transferred after the female mosquito bites an individual, infecting him with the parasite, which is the cause of the disease.
As per Isabelle Borghini-Fuhrer, Associate Director of Clinical Sciences at the group Medicines for Malaria Venture or MMV in Geneva, experts are keen on trying to find an alternate treatment to the usual anti-malarial regimen so as to provide health care workers in malaria stricken nation's better and effective treatments.
She said that it is important to carry this examination because a few drugs can provide better results than the others.
There is also a trend of resistance to definite drugs that come into sight, when drugs are extensively used. And thus, there is a requirement to have an alternative treatment so that patients can be treated right away.
