Singapore’s bank lending jumps 2.3% in November
Singapore’s bank lending jumped 2.3 per cent to settle at S$415.8 billion in November from the previous month.
Business loans jumped 2.9 per cent to S$240.1 billion, while consumer loans climbed 1.4 per cent to settle at S$175.7 billion.
Singaporeans have to take economic fluctuations in stride: PM Lee says
Singapore’s Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong has said that the country would have to take this year’s economic fluctuations in their stride.

HDB to build additional 1,600 car parking lots next year
The Housing Development Board (HDB) will construct 1,600 new car park lots during 2012, National Development Minister Khaw Boon Wan has announced.
The new parking lots to be constructed next year will be in addition to the 3,400 parking lots constructed during the past two years.The construction of parking lots will cost to the tune of $66 million.
Southbound train service on the North-South line delayed due to signaling fault: SMRT
Singapore Mass Rapid Transit (SMRT) has blamed a signaling error near Marina Bay station for the delay in southbound train service on the North-South line on Thursday.
An SMRT spokesperson said that it was a signaling slipup near Marina Bay station at around 7.50 am on Thursday that caused a general delay of around eight minutes in journey time on the North-South Line.

Singapore MRT’s North-South line resumed
Train services on North-South line have been resumed as Singapore Mass Rapid Transit (SMRT) is gradually making improvements, following hours-long breakdown.
The latest update at SMRT website shows that train services on the whole North-South line resumed at 1.48pm on Saturday.
