No deal yet but intensifying talks as possible government shutdown looms
Discussions seem to be getting more intense on Capitol Hill after reaching an agreement on a long-overdue legislation for funding the government till September-end, and stop a government shutdown from taking place. Now, if or not a shutdown can be at all avoided in only three days' time is yet another issue.

US to cut tax breaks for firms creating jobs abroad
US President Barack Obama has said that he will end tax breaks for the firms that create jobs abroad. He also accused Republicans of advocating faulty economic policies during a mid-term campaign.
"I think if we're going to give tax breaks to companies, they should go to companies that create jobs in America - not that create jobs overseas," he said
Obama gets high marks for new health care law
President Obama is getting high public support for the way he has dealt with the new health care law, even from some Republicans, in the 100 days since it was signed.

Obama Backs China’s Move on Currency
President Barack Obama told Hu Jintao, the Chinese Leader, that the United States has liked China’s decision for more flexibility about its currency. He said that they expect that China would have more balanced trade.
Obama said that this flexibility would allow the balance in the global economy. The two leaders met at the G20 summit in Toronto. President has invited Hu to the U.S.; however, no particular date has been decided, yet.
