Architects-students teams builds record Lincoln Log tower
A team of DLR Group architects and Nebraska-Lincoln University students set a new record by erecting a 12-foot-tall replica of the Nebraska state Capitol with Lincoln Logs.
The record-setting tower, completed on Saturday, was built using more than 10,000 Lincoln Logs at the Lincoln Children's Museum.
NTUC introduces book to help PMEs
With a sincere desire to help professionals, managers & executives (PMEs), the National Trades Union Congress (NTUC) yesterday introduced a book Workplace Rights for the Busy Executive to help them know their rights at their places of work.
One of the contributors to the book, Mr. George Cooper, said that labour movement will soon reach out to PMEs as employment disputes arising from this group was rise.
Woman arrested over online RWS hotel stay scam
A woman was arrested by police yesterday on committing an online scam of offering Resorts World Sentosa (RWS) packages at discount. There were two woman business partners one is called as 'AzilCyan' online.
They used to offer deals on the Singapore Motherhood forum and AzilCyan had offered the deal on April 6 and June 6.
Rising cost of living influence voters: survey by Media Research Consultants
Recently, a survey was conducted by Media Research Consultants through telephone tracking 618 voters commissioned by Today revealed that rising cost of living is influencing voters to cast their ballot than hot-button issues such as the influx of foreigners or housing.
The results of the survey are surprising for some political watchers.
More workers get option to work beyond retirement age–Says survey
A Ministry of Manpower (MOM) survey has revealed that currently more workers are getting the chance from their companies to work beyond the retirement age of 62.
The survey was done from September to December last year on retirement and re-employment practices. It comprises of 3,100 companies.
The re-employment contract for workers who turn 62 is not so major.
