Palm has come up with the newest version for its webOS mobile operating system, aiming to all developers for a short while. The Palm webOS 2.0 OS will be offered with the latest 'Stacks' feature which is aimed to offer multitasking feature that aides users to access or create emails without logging in to the app.

Apple was reported to be the key player in the bid to take the smartphone maker Palm, but supposedly was back lashed when HP's gave the $1.2 billion offer, as reported by Business Insider.

It was further stated by the unnamed source that search giant Google and Blackberry maker Research in Motion were also in lieu of purchasing the company.

A source from the Business Insider claims that Apple and RIM were on the platform of bidding for Palm before HP plunged in to steal the bid for $1.2 billion.

Apple sought interests in Palm's library of intellectual property and their patenting rights. Palm boasts of close to 450 patents on file and 400 more apps other than those.

The recent proclamations of doubling down on WebOS, HP allegedly has been stated to be laying off a number of Palm employees over the past few weeks.

According to a statement made by an ex- Palm employee, "We were given our exit envelope Tuesday morning. Our badges stopped working and we were removed from the computer network at 2:00pm that day."

June 18 to July 9, all apps in the Palm App Catalog will be half its listed price.

It has been reported that the Palm Pre Plus and Pixi Plus have now been made available in O2 in the UK.

The revised and improved version of the previous Pre, Palm Pre Plus, is now without the navigation button, replacing it with a touch sensitive area.

The keyboard has been updated as there is a good spacing between the buttons.

After the much anticipated Palm Pre’s return to smartphone form witnessed a bubbled out in disappointment, the device is back as the Palm Pre Plus.
