Chipmaker, Intel, which co-developed the MeeGo platform for mobile phones with Nokia, has announced that devices based on the platform are unlikely to be launched before the first half of 2011 despite rumors that Nokia is set to launch a MeeGo based smartphone soon.

Leading handset maker, Nokia has announced the launch of its new smartphone, Nokia C3 in the Indian market.

The C3 touch and type smartphone combines the design of a touchscreen and 12-button phone keypad. The phone has the features of both a touchscreen and a normal phone and it is similar to X3 Touch and Type from the company.

The combined market share of National mobile makers like Spice, Micromax and G’Five is in the tune of thirty three decimal two percent as recorded in the second quarter of the current year as compared to zero decimal nine percent of two years earlier. These facts have been provided by the research company IDC.

Handset maker, Nokia has said entered into a strategic partnership with India’s Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU) to provide certificate programmes in English through its devices in the country.

Leading handset manufacturer, Nokia has announced the a revision of pricing of its music phone ‘Nokia X2’ with in the Indian market. The Nokia X2 handset will be priced at Rs 6,579 instead of Rs 5,999 in the country.

Leading handset maker, Nokia has said in a press release that it is revising the price of its handset ‘Nokia X2’ to Rs 6,579 from Rs. 5,999.

The Nokia X2 was introduces in the Indian market five months ago and will now be sold at a higher price with some enhanced music experience, a 5 MP camera and other features.

Snapshots of the first Nokia smartphone based on the Meego mobile platform, the N9, have been circulating over the net and is claimed to be a version which is very much akin to a much smaller version of the Mac Book Air.
